Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

The news of a new Ghost Recon game, although long expected, was officially announced yesterday.  Today brough the first teaser trailer with it.  Go check it out over at Ign.

I've been a fan of the series for a long time.  I remember playing the first one on my computer, and then having nightly co-op games when the title first appeared on the original Xbox.  What made the game so great in it's early stages was the fact that you could team up with your buddies and play a real tactical shooter together.

The series then moved to the Next-gen consoles.  It also changed from being simply Ghost Recon to Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.  Both games on the 360 earned rave reviews around the industry.  The multiplayer experience was solid and the graphics were truly something to marvel at.  Some say that the Advanced Warfighter was one of the first truly "next-gen" games graphically.

Of course right now there are more questions than answers.  Will the gameplay stay true to past Ghost Recon titles?  Will the game still be in the 3rd person (1.5 really) or will it make the move to first person.  Will it stay true to it's root or try to compete with the Call of Duty Juggernaut?

All we know for sure is that the multiplayer beta will come free with the purchase of the new Splinter Cell game.  Which sucks because now I have to spend $65 to get my hands on the game.  Arghhh.

We'll send more updates your way once they become available, but keep an eye out for this title.  It could be the sleeper hit of the year.
